  2. Wet Cleaning: Most residential hardwood floor cleaning products are designed to be diluted with water and actually perform better when mixed with water than using them straight. Hardwood floor cleaning product provides the necessary chemical action to penetrate and suspend the attached soils on the floor. Thereby, allowing the suspended soil to be removed from the floor.

    • General Purpose or Neutral pH Floor Cleaners: These products usually do not leave a residue on the floor and requires no rinsing and have a ph of 7.0 to 10.0. The product is formulated to work safely on all hardwood floors providing the hardwood floor have been sealed with a quality polyurethane seal. Never apply a wet cleaning solution on an unsealed wood floor. These neutral cleaners employ particular surfactants to penetrate and suspend soils attached to the floor.
       
    • Steam Mop Cleaning: These types of hardwood floor cleaning products are a category by themselves and provide cleaning by the use of steam and a microfiber pad. They are effective and efficient and provide great results for the homeowner.     • One Step Floor Cleaners: These are mainly used in the residential home and can be used to clean and leave a luster to the floor. A side effect of some of these types of products can over time and prolonged use leave a residue on the floor that looks dull and can actually attract soil to the floor.
